Friend's Hiking and Camping Club (FHC) was created in 1996 by a small group of friends with a love of the Arizona outdoors. Drawing on personal experiences, they planned day hikes, backpacks and canoe trips. Like a snowball, other friends wanted in on action. Soon monthly newsletters and get-togethers began, allowing new friends to share in our adventures.

Since then, there have been hundreds of FHC outings in 8 states as well as Mexico. We have hiked in the Grand Canyon, Glacier National Park, Superstitions, and among the ruins of Grand Gulch, Canyon de Chelly, and Chaco Canyon, just to name a few. We’re always looking for something new, making new friends along the way.

FHC has over 60 members, ages ranging from 20 to 60+, married and single, with and without children. Professions range from engineers to trail bums. We strive not to be the biggest, just the best.

FHC events include local day hikes, backpacks, canoe/kayak trips, camping, and other activities, ranging from beginner to advanced. We love to teach others what we've learned, and learn from others. You're sure to find something of interest. Let us lead the way.

So, if you are interested in learning more about Friend's Hiking and Camping Club, you are welcome to attend any of our events or monthly meetings. We look forward to seeing you on the trail!
